The Basics

Character Name: Lavender Brown PB: Rachel McAdams Age: 21 Birthday: 4 May, 1980 Wand: Chestnut, 8 1/2 inches, unicorn hair House in School: Gryffindor Bloodline: Pureblood Political View: Lavender fully supports Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix. Lavender showed her support for Harry by joining the DA in her sixth year. She is a pureblood but that does not mean she thinks herself above anyone else. If she were to do that, it would be based on beauty, not blood. Lavender hopes that the wizarding world can hash out its differences and be united, but at the present time, it doesn't seem too likely.

Appearance

Height: 5'4'' Weight: 120 lbs (on a good day) Eyes: Blue Hair: Honey blonde, except when Lavender decides to go natural. Then she is a brunette. Build: Lavender is petite and therefore tries to maintain her current weight. She is curvy but generally in all the right places. Of course, she doesn't believe so and wishes her thighs were just a tad smaller and her chest just a tad bigger. Dress Style: Lavender is definitely a fashionista. She loves to go shopping and never goes to sleep without planning the next day's outfit. Sometimes Lavender opts for casual clothing if she plans to do housework or is feeling ill. Otherwise, Lavender goes all out. Fashion is fun and Lavender has fun with it. Basic Physical Description: Lavender is always playing with her personal style. She may wear a fun and flirty dress one day and black slacks with a silk blouse the next. Whatever Lavender is wearing, though, she always wears a smile. Lavender likes to experiment with her make-up and hair as well. Some days she feels like a brunette, others a blonde. Sometimes her eyes are outlined in black, sometimes in blue. She is a bit like a chameleon that way, always changing her colors. She has two beauty marks on her chin, a plain nose, full lips, and piercing blue eyes. Her eyes are her best feature; even if Lavender is frowning (which she hardly ever does), her eyes seem to be smiling.

Personality

Nobody does the giggly teenage girl act better than Lavender. Of course, now that she is 21, she really has to work on acting more mature. Lavender loves to gossip about new clothing, make-up, shoes, who's-dating-who, and did-you-see-what-she-was-wearing? Nevertheless, she has grown a bit as a person since her Hogwarts days. Her experiences in the war helped a lot. Despite being emotionally hardened by the war, Lavender still greets the world with a smile and a funny tidbit about her day. This is also her weakness, however. She hardly shows her true feelings and does not feel completely comfortable with anyone but her close friends and family. At Hogwarts, the only person who knew the real Lavender was Parvati, Lavender's best friend. Lavender sometimes worries that she is also a bit annoying. Many a boy has dumped her because she was too "clingy." Lavender hates that. It's not as if she was trying to be clingy! One of Lavender's biggest strengths is that she always knows how to cheer somebody up, whether by telling a joke, embarrassing herself, or just giving a few words of comfort.

Psychology

Extrovert/Introvert: Lavender is most definitely an extrovert. She loves communicating with those around her, especially of the male variety. As for females, Lavender does have some very close girlfriends such as Parvati Patil but generally views other women as her opponents in the race for the perfect man. Boggart Would Be: Lavender's boggart would be a snake. She has been deathly afraid of them since childhood which is probably why she was never too fond of Slytherin. Patronus Would Be: Lavender practiced producing Patronuses while a member of Dumbledore's Army. She was able to produce one after some frustration and was quite surprised when it appeared as a seahorse.

Sexuality

Lavender is straight and always has been. She is definitely boy crazy and hates being single. At Hogwarts, Lavender was always plotting her next move to snag the boy of her dreams. First it was Seamus Finnigan. She desperately wanted to go to the Yule Ball with him and after much undercover gossiping and manipulation, she got her way. In her sixth year, Lavender set her eyes on Ron Weasley. After some careful run-ins and giggles aimed in his direction, Lavender was successfully wrapped in the lanky arms of Won-Won. Their breakup is still a little hard for Lavender to think back on, but she realizes deep down that it was for the best.

Lifestyle

Occupation: It varies. Lavender is trying to find a designer, muggle or otherwise, who will apprentice her in fashion design. In the meantime, she is a waitress in a muggle bar (where nobody will recognize her). Residence: A small flat in London. Financial Status: Not good. She can afford food and basic necessities, but her wardrobe has taken a definite hit in the process.

Family

Parents: Evan and Natalie Brown were married in 1978 and had Lavender two years later. They have been married ever since. Evan is the owner of a restaurant in London and Natalie stays busy in the community. Siblings:Lavender is an only child and it shows sometimes. Lavender gets along great with her parents, overlooking the fact that her father has a tendency to lecture his daughter about her lack of a stable career. Lavender connects the most with her mother who is a fellow gossip at heart. Her parents are both pureblood and were matched by their parents. They fell in love instantly, bonding over their dislike of being matched with other purebloods. They, therefore, expect Lavender to marry whomever she pleases, as long as he pleases her too. They definitely wouldn't mind if that person happened to be a pureblood, though. That would be an added bonus.

History from student days at Hogwarts to the present time

Excitement is the only word to describe how Lavender felt when she was first sorted at Hogwarts. She was really hoping for Gryffindor considering Ravenclaw was not an option (she was not the bookish type) and Hufflepuff didn't sound quite interesting enough for her. She was rewarded in the end with a seat at the Gryffindor table and her very best friend, Parvati Patil. Lavender and Parvati connected instantly. Hermione Granger, their other roommate, proved to be a complete nerd with nothing better to do than read. Honestly, Lavender really owed her friendship with Parvati to Hermione. Without the bookworm, Parvati and Lavender would never have started teasing her together behind her back and hence, might never have been friends. Okay, so they had more in common than that, but still. In Lavender's fourth year, she was able to attend the Yule Ball with Seamus Finnigan, her first real date. In Lavender's sixth year, her first real relationship blossomed with Ron Weasley. It had always been assumed that he was Hermione's man, but really, if she was going to be slow about it, it was her own fault that Lavender got him first. Unfortunately, Hermione won out in the end. Lavender never really forgave the bushy-haired, smarty-pants for that. Also in her sixth year, Lavender joined Dumbledore's Army. It was interesting to practice defensive spells she never would have bothered with otherwise. Plus, fear of the imminent war convinced her to join. She was just glad that Parvati wanted to join as well. At least they could have some fun together while doing it. When the war came, Lavender didn't think it would last as long as it did. She saw many things that she will never, in her lifetime, forget. Killing people, even though she knew they were the enemy, never sat right with Lavender. She absolutely hated it. In the back of her mind, she knew she was taking somebody's life away, somebody's father, somebody's brother, or somebody's child. It is one thing to hurt somebody's feelings, but to kill them? Lavender had never done anything so malicious in her life. She tries to forget the war, but she still has nightmares once in a while. At the present moment, Lavender is not happy with the current Minister of Magic, Shingleton. She thinks he's being too strict with the wizarding world. Sure, he's just trying to round up anybody who might be a true criminal, but Lavender believes he is going too far. She cannot wait for any upcoming elections when a new, more qualified Minister can take Shingleton's place.
